Saturdays, Sunday & Holidays - May 17 to December 21, 2008 www.lgsry.com The Reading & Northern Passenger Fleet COACHES The Reading and Northern excursion train consists of 1920’s era coaches with conventional seats, electric lights, and large clear windows which can be raised for ventilation. (This type car is often referred to as an “open-window-coach.”) Seating capacity: 72 per coach. Cars are heated, but not air-conditioned. Each coach has a restroom with a camper-style toilet. There is no smoking or use of tobacco products on R&N RR properties. Note: coach seats not assigned at time of purchase. Coach seating diagram: (each seat is for two passengers)
On certain trips, we also offer seating in The Lehigh Gorge, our heavyweight 1927 Pullman car. Rooms are sold as a higher priced "premium service,” which includes a snack and beverage service. Pullman rooms are pre-assigned. Pullman Car seating diagram: 10 rooms (each room includes tickets for two passengers)
Motive Power is usually large high-horsepower diesel locomotives from our daily fleet. Steam locomotive 2102 is currently not in
service, and there are no current plans for this historic and popular
engine. The Budd R-D-Cs are currently not in service, and there are no
current plans for these cars. We will, however, post the news on our
web site, if-and-when any of this equipment is restored to service. |
